The Public Service Alliance of Canada extends its solidarity to the vast numbers of Albertans, including members of the PSAC, who have suffered losses during the recent flooding in Southern Alberta.  During a visit to Calgary last weekend, I witnessed the devastating impact of the floods on our members, their families and the communities. This is by far one of the most serious disasters to hit Canada in many years and PSAC is determined to work with all of our members and other labour organizations to coordinate a united response.

The Goose Bay Area Council held a food drive Wednesday, June 26, 2013, to collect donations for the Labrador Friendship Centre Food Bank and to promote the We Are All Affected campaign. The PSAC members filled six grocery carts with food donations to help replenish stocks. They also collected financial donations of over $500. Area Council Chair Brenda Linstead was interviewed on CBC Radio’s Labrador Morning about the food drive and the campaign. Have a listen here.

The Moncton Area Council with the collaboration of some locals in the Greater Moncton distributed a "We Are All Affected" flyer "We Don't Feel Like Celebrating!"

GSU Local 60018 -   -   -    On Thursday, June 13th, the executive of local 60018 along with a USGE member plantgated the National Public Service Week yearly BBQ in Shediac.  Flyers were given to members and also management who were told that:  "We are ALL affected".

UTE Local 60005  -  On Thursday, June 13th, UTE local 60005 along with other locals and other unions in Saint John organized a march to Conservative MP Rob Moore's office.  Present at this march, was UTE National President, Bob Campbell who addressed the crowd of approx. 100 union members.
