Public Servants Rally to Denounce the Phoenix Pay System

HALIFAX, NS – Members of the Union of Veterans’ Affairs Employees (UVAE), a Component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), will rally to denounce the Phoenix Pay System as thousands of public servants continue to have pay issues.  They will bring their concerns to Andy Fillmore, Member of Parliament for Halifax.

WHAT: Rally to Denounce the Phoenix Pay System

Special thanks to various PSAC committees and our PSAC-Atlantic Director for GLBT members, Wayne Kelley, for having ensured a strong PSAC presence at various pride parades in the Atlantic Region.  This year, we participated in the following pride parades:

Moncton, NB

Halifax, Yarmouth and Amherst, Pictou County and Sydney, NS

As soon as PSAC members found out that Prime Minister Trudeau and his Cabinet were meeting in St. John's, NL, they got to work and organized a demo to highlight the many problems they face due to the Phoenix Pay System.  in less than 24 hours, they rented a bus, mobilized members and allies and organized a successful event. Different media outlets were on site to cover the event.  You can also view the complete photo album.
