Members of the NS Area Council 1 (Bill Kroeger, Glenn McMullin, Bill and Helen Zebedee, Rhonda Doyle-LeBlanc, Kelly Bush, Drake Clarke and Chris Di Liberatore) organized an information booth at the local farmers market to raise awareness on the Thirsty for Justice campaign.

On December 17 1999, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth that August 12 be declared International Youth Day.

International Youth Day 2017 is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as inclusion, social justice, and sustainable peace.

Colleen Coffey, Regional Executive Vice-President presented a cheque of $2,000 to the Ecology Action Centre on behalf of the PSAC Social Justice Fund. 

Debi Buell of the PEI Regional Women's Committee presented a cheque of $2,000 to the McKillop Centre for Social Justice on behalf of the PSAC Social Justice Fund.
