The PSAC's newly elected bargaining teams for the PA, FB, TC, SV and EB groups will be meeting in Ottawa from July 7th to July 11th for the start of negotiations with Treasury Board. PSAC previously received notices to bargain for these groups. The bargaining teams are united in their resolve to defend public services and the working conditions of those who provide them. As you know, the next federal election will be held on October 19, 2015. On the 19th of every month, we are asking our members to be creative in highlighting the number 19 such as: standing outside your workplace for 19 minutes, wearing a piece of clothing with the number 19 or coming up with the 19 best ways of getting rid of the Harper Conservative government.

May 17th is recognized as International Day against Homophobia.  Even though rights for the GLBT community has improved, we still have a long way to go.  People should not live in fear because of their sexual orientation or sharing their love for one another in public.

Mental Health Week is an annual national event that takes place during the first week of May.  Mental Health is still stigmatized in today’s society, therefore it is important that we share valuable information around mental health and provide help when needed.  Let’s be clear, mental health is a state of well-being.  It affects how we think, feel, act and interact with others.
