Your Union filed a grievance about the employer’s delay in implementing the collective agreement.  We are awaiting a final level hearing and the employer’s response on this grievance.

Dear Sisters and Brothers,   Mental Health Awareness week is  an annual national event that takes place during the first week in May (May 5-11)  to encourage people to discuss, learn, reflect and get involved on all issues relating to mental health.

PSAC is pleased to report that the Federal Court of Appeal has today unanimously upheld the groundbreaking decision of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. The decision found the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) discriminated against PSAC member, Fiona Johnstone by failing to accommodate her family obligations.

Participants to a PSAC's Local Officers Training participated in a rally to oppose the Fair Elections Act in Halifax on Saturday at the Seaport Market.

April 28 is a National Day of Mourning that commemorates workers who are killed or injured on the job each year, or who die from work-related diseases.  This day provides us the opportunity to remember these workers in public events.  However, the Day of Mourning is also a time to insist that all levels of government must take an active role in enforcing existing health and safety laws and by doing so, prosecute violations when a  worker is killed or seriously injured.

For two PSAC members working as teaching and research assistants at University of New Brunswick, the recent gathering of PowerShift Atlantic was a source of new passion for environmental activism.
