Sisters and Brothers, National Public Service Week (NPSW) will be held June 11-17, 2017.  The event marks the importance of federal public service employees and to recognizes their service to Canadians.  Because the employer cannot pay its employees on time and accurately, we are asking our members to boycott NPSW. PSAC members proudly serve Canadians on a daily basis.  Our members deserve more than a piece of cake - if the employer wants to show their recognition for our members' valuable work; they should do that by paying them in full and on time.

Laurie Ann Wesselby (USGE 60128 and VP of the Greater Moncton Area Council) and Bernard Simard (USGE 60142) attended the ceremony organized by the Moncton District Labour Council to lay a wreath in memory of the workers who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness on the job.  

Establishment of Asian Heritage Month Asian Heritage Month was first officially recognized in December 2001, when the Canadian Senate adopted the month of May as Asian Heritage Month. This is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the long and diverse history of Asian Canadians and their contributions to Canada, as well as the many struggles they face.   History of racial discrimination

Members of the Miramichi Area Council, Mike LeBlanc and Scott Cowan, presented a cheque of $1,000 from the PSAC Social Justice Fund and PSAC Atlantic Region to the Miramichi Food Bank in order to assist with the ice storm that hit the region earlier this year.

The PSAC-Atlantic Regional Council met in Charlottetown, PE April 22-23. PSAC members also organized a rally in front of the local MP’s office asking to fix the phoenix pay system.

The Greater Moncton Human Rights committee members invited Justin Ryan from the Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area (MAGMA) to do a presentation at their meeting.
