Sisters and Brothers, Please find below a letter of introduction I sent to all 32 MPs in our region. In solidarity, Colleen Coffey (formerly Hodder) Regional Executive Vice-President, PSAC-Atlantic

On December 17 1999, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth that August 12 be declared International Youth Day. International Youth Day 2017 is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as inclusion, social justice, and sustainable peace.

Sisters and Brothers, First and foremost, let me express my deepest gratitude to the delegates who elected me as Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) for PSAC’s Atlantic Region.  I’m deeply honored and I commit to give my 100% on a daily basis.  I will do my best to represent you and fight on your behalf.

This award is presented to members who have provided exemplary service or have been role models and mentors for our members.  The recipients were presented with their award at our Regional Convention. Congratulations to the recipients:   Jill Power, UCTE Local 90940 She’s been working for the federal government for 10 years and have been a proud PSAC activist for 9 of those years and she’s been a mentor to the members of her local and region. With over 270 delegates, 6 guests and 25 observers, the PSAC-Atlantic Triennial Regional Convention was poised to be a successful event.  Delegates elected members to the Regional Council, the governing body between conventions, and Sister Colleen Hodder was elected as Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP). The participants raised over $25,000 for members of the Halifax Typographical Union who are on strike because their employer, the Halifax based Chronicle Herald, is trying to bust the union.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 23, 2017 Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada Rally to Denounce the Phoenix Pay System SAINT JOHN, NB – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) who are meeting at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre in Saint John, NB for their 7th Triennial PSAC-Atlantic Regional Convention will be organizing a march followed by a demo to demonstrate their frustrations in regards to the Phoenix Pay System.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 22, 2017 Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada Come Together in Saint John, NB for their Triennial Convention SAINT JOHN, NB – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) will be gathering at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre in Saint John, NB from June 23 – 25 for their 7th Triennial PSAC-Atlantic Regional Convention.  Over 350 delegates, guests and observers are expected.

Thanks to our members who organized events during NPSW, we earned terrific media coverage in every province of the Atlantic Region. Events ranged from demos in front of offices of Members of Parliament, fundraising initiatives, plant gates and much more.   View photo album   Media Scan Recap:  

The Humanity Project Moncton, a non-for profit organization who, among other things feeds kids and homeless people, recently lost their headquarter.  They are now temporarily bringing food directly on the street to feed people.  They were very happy to receive some financial help from the Greater Moncton Human Rights committee.  Read the full Story…
